How to use Marketing ROI Calculator
- Choose a consistent period and currency.
- Enter attributed revenue, gross margin and cost.
- Review the formula and assumptions alongside your own records.
Example
Revenue 10,000, margin 50% and cost 2,000 give gross profit 5,000, net contribution 3,000 and ROI 150%.
Method and formula
Gross profit = attributed revenue × gross margin / 100. Net contribution after marketing = gross profit − marketing cost. Marketing ROI = net contribution after marketing / marketing cost × 100. All monetary inputs must use the same currency and measurement period.
Limits and supported input
Marketing cost must exceed zero, and margin is from 0 to 100%. This model excludes taxes, overhead and attribution uncertainty unless you include them in your inputs. It is an estimate, not accounting advice or a revenue forecast.
Privacy
This tool processes the input in your current browser tab. It does not upload your input or call a paid or remote API. Copying places text on your system clipboard; downloading saves a file on your device. Site hosting logs, analytics, ads, third-party embeds and other installed plugins are separate and can have their own data handling. Frequently asked questions
