How to use Engagement Rate Calculator
- Enter interaction counts from a consistent source.
- Enter the corresponding views.
- Run the calculation and label the denominator when comparing results.
Example
120 likes + 20 comments + 10 shares across 5,000 views gives 3%.
Method and formula
Views-based engagement rate = (likes + comments + shares) / views × 100. Counts must be non-negative whole numbers; views must be greater than zero. Enter figures from the same content item and measurement period.
Limits and supported input
This chosen formula does not match every platform definition. It excludes saves, clicks, watch time and follower-based denominators. The result is a manual estimate, not official platform analytics. More than 100% is mathematically possible because one viewer may create several interactions.
Privacy
This tool processes the input in your current browser tab. It does not upload your input or call a paid or remote API. Copying places text on your system clipboard; downloading saves a file on your device. Site hosting logs, analytics, ads, third-party embeds and other installed plugins are separate and can have their own data handling. JavaScript is required for the tool, while this explanation remains available without it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use followers instead of views?
This tool labels and uses views. A follower-based method would be a different measure.
Does it connect to my account?
