How to use Keyword Frequency Checker
- Paste the draft and enter a word or phrase.
- Run the check.
- Use the result to review repetition in context, not to chase a target score.
Example
In tools help and tools explain, the phrase tools occurs twice among five tokens: 2 / 5 × 100 = 40%.
Method and formula
Text and phrase are normalized to NFC and lowercased, then tokenized into Unicode letters/numbers with their combining marks and internal apostrophes. The tool counts matching token windows, including overlapping matches. Frequency = phrase occurrences / total text tokens × 100; it is not the share of all words occupied by a multi-word phrase.
Limits and supported input
Punctuation becomes a token boundary, so phrase matching can cross punctuation. There is no stemming or synonym matching. Unspaced writing is not linguistically segmented. Keyword frequency is not a Google ranking score and there is no universal ideal percentage.
Privacy
This tool processes the input in your current browser tab. It does not upload your input or call a paid or remote API. Copying places text on your system clipboard; downloading saves a file on your device. Site hosting logs, analytics, ads, third-party embeds and other installed plugins are separate and can have their own data handling. JavaScript is required for the tool, while this explanation remains available without it.
